Klarna fined over data protection
After a ruling in a Swedish court of appeals, native payments group Klarna have been ordered to pay an administrative fine of 7.5 million Swedish Krona for the violation of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.
In the court’s statement they claim that Klarna had not not given its clients sufficient information about how it would store their personal data and that the information was unclear or difficult to access.

Musk sues OpenAI
Elon Musk, the multi-billionaire owner of Tesla and X, is suing artificial intelligence company OpenAI, accusing the firm of prioritising profit over developing AI for the public good.
Musk co-founded OpenAI but is bringing the suit against them and its newly reinstated chief executive, Sam Altman, for breaching contract by reneging on its pledge to develop AI carefully and make the tech widely available. Musk’s argument lies in OpenAI’s partnership with Microsoft, which he claims makes them “a closed-source de facto subsidiary of the largest technology company”.

Duvel beer hit by cyber attack
Production at four breweries owned by Belgian beer firm Duvel has ground to a halt after a cyber attack.
The company says it fell victim to the suspected ransomware attack during the night. Initially, five of its production facilities were shut down but one has since come back online. Despite the shock of the attack, Duvel have declared that the built-in systems and alarms in the IT-system “worked well“.
